B-Sides & Rarities, a partner project of The 14/48 Projects, is bringing back the annual dark and bluesy take on Yuletide for one night only with the fourth incarnation of Christmas: B-Sides & Rarities: Celebrating the season with a dark, occasionally cynical, often funny, and decidedly musical variety show that is the perfect antidote to overly cheery, relentlessly commercialized traditional Christmas fare. This year’s line-up includes:

• Weird wondrousness from John McKenna;

• Short plays by Jaryl Draper, Rob MacGregor, and Rod Tipton;

• Stand-up by Mary Morrison;

• Some “The Lion in Winter” from Christine and Lyam White;

• Magical, maniacal storytelling from the inimitable Jennifer Jasper;

• Stories and more from Paul Mullin, Scot Augustson, and Cody Smith;

• Musical mayhem from the Jolly Hollies (Kathie Whithall, Peggy Gannon, Aimee Zoe, and Moe Provencher a.k.a. MoZo)

Artist line-up is subject to change, last-minute additions, and planned surprises.

Tickets for this one-night-only event are $15 at Brown Paper Tickets (xmasbsides2015.brownpapertickets.com) or $18 at the door. Seating is general admission and extremely limited.

B-Sides & Rarities is a Partner Project of and receives marketing and logistical support from The 14/48 Projects, producers of 14/48: The World’s Quickest Theater Festival and Theater Anonymous. The 14/48 Projects: Season Three The 14/48 Projects marks the beginning of its third season with this iteration of Theater Anonymous. The 14/48 Projects continues to develop an international network of 14/48 Festivals, returning to Leicester, England and Austin, TX and debuting in London, and introducing Theater Anonymous to Leicester. They have also shepherded 14/48: HS, an entirely student-run festival, through its second year, winning the 2015 Teeny Award for Best Youth Engagement Program. The 14/48 Projects is in the middle of a year-long residency at North Seattle Community College and kicks off a four-year production agreement with ACT Theater, making the signature festival a cornerstone of the ACTLab program. Our Partner Project program continues to support new work by festival veterans all around Seattle. The 14/48 Projects is led by President Jodi-Paul Wooster and Executive Director Shawn Belyea.
